The burger is one of the best I've had in Chicago. The ambiance is perfect, and the 80's/90's music with the music videos playing on some of the TVs is a nice touch. The owner/servers/bartenders have been kind and accommodating every time we walk in. Highly recommended!

I would give this 5 stars if they had a better selection of beer. Alright got the bad out of the way. Currently the burger they have here is in top 5 classic burgers in Chicago. It looks like their menu change though, so now the burger is a patty melt. I am sure that is also delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection and it was high quality. We also had their blue crab dip. Basically it was deconstructed crab ragoon, and it was to die for. I just wish I could have more dip to put on the crispy wontons you get to dip with. Wednesdays are half price draft beers and you can get a really good deal on certain brews. Their back patio is nice, but I think it needs some work.

This is a great little bar. Mike the bartender was attentive, entertaining, and knowledgeable. The whiskey selection was small but excellent. Much better than the average bar that has 40+ whiskeys but very few I'd like to drink

The Monarch has one of the best burgers - meat wise - that I've ever tasted. Just a simple meat on a bun with your normal toppings - maybe a few fancy things, but simple and scrumptious! They have a fairly decent craft beer list- go on a night when they're doing their craft beer special ($3!!) - Also, weather permitting sit in their back patio and get the Creme brulee for desert.

I went here with a couple of girl friends last Tuesday for the half-priced wine and mussels special, and we were pleasantly surprised. The owner was very friendly, our waiters were great, and the new chef really elevates what could be a typical sports bar into what will soon be a neighborhood gem. I can't wait to go back, and I will definitely bring friends. Great food at great prices in a laid-back atmosphere make this place a perfect place for post-work drinks and dinner!

It was OK. My food was good, my wife's we saw sit for 10+ minutes then come out cold. It's too bad since the flavors were good. Then after a 300+ dollar tab and 25% tip then actively ordering more drinks past that, they asked us to move to the bar, which had no seats available. Drinks and bartenders were good. I probably won't go back though, it could have been better.

I still can't believe this was a regular ol' sports bar! The food is fantastic- I am drooling as I think about their foie gras mousse with strawberry jam and toast points. Seriously, it is life changing. It was so good, I needed a cigarette after and I don't smoke. The service is great- the wait staff are all very knowledgeable and quick with a suggestion. The cocktail program is very creative and what's great is that they have an explanation of where they got the inspiration for the drink!
