The Dearborn - Chicago
The Lawless family is quietly building a restaurant empire in Chicago. First came The Gage, which paid tribute to their deep Irish roots. Then The Dawson, Acanto, The Dearborn, Beacon Tavern and Coda di Volpe.
The Dearborn, however, is a bit of a spinoff for the clan as Amy Lawless and Clodagh Lawless are behind this American-focused eatery that pays homage to its Midwestern home. Set in the base of the Block Thirty Seven shopping and entertainment destination, its setting is meant to feel as though it's been there for a very long time.
Much of the furniture has been reclaimed and updated, offering guests an atmosphere that's cozy and trendy at once. Situated inside the 8,000-square-foot, 225-seat restaurant are leather booths and chairs, original tiling and antique-esque light fixtures.
The seasonal menu includes lots of seafood options, plus a signature burger and steak options. The Dearborn is an ideal stopover before or after seeing a show in the nearby theater district. Its cocktail, craft beer and massive wine selections attract a hearty after-work crowd.
