The Han Burger - Chicago
The Han Burger focuses on serving its namesake dish, a “reimagined” version of “Roujiamo,” a popular Chinese street food that’s basically deliciously seasoned and shredded meat mounted on a from-scratch bun, sauced with chili and cilantro.
Billed as “The world’s oldest take on the hamburger,” the Han Burger dates back to B.C. times, and it’s a sandwich of marinated meat, usually pork, slow cooked in spices, with some hot peppers added into the mix, served on a toasted bun with hot peppers and veggies.
The Han Burger is a virtual restaurant, offering pick-up and delivery of several versions of Han Burgers, all based upon the thousands-of-years old Chinese sandwich. Topping the menu is The Han Solo (get it?!), marinated pork belly with chopped cilantro and chili paste on a bun with a side of jus – like all the Han Burgers, you can order with just minimal or extra spiciness (we recommend starting slow). You want two of these burgers together, get the Han Dolo.
The Aioli Han is the Han Solo with garlic aioli and The Beef Han is brisket, marinated for ten hours then slow-cooked (the best way to prepare this cut of beef). The Chicago Han is the original Han with Chicago’s own giardiniera (a natural for a spicy sandwich).
Going carb-less? The Keto Han is the Han Solo without the bun.
You want a side? There’s one listed on the menu: spicy potatoes sprinkled with paprika and served with garlic aioli.
The Han Burger is a simple, unpretentious spot to drop by and pick up (or have delivered) a quick, easy, and somewhat unusual meal.
