After amassing a bit of a cult following on the East Coast in the D.C. and Virginia markets, Taylor Gourmet expanded to Chicago for its first Midwestern outpost, setting up shop in the lunch-happy Loop.
Hoagies are the star of the show at this sunny, contemporary counter-service eatery, available in familiar flavors like cheesesteak and meatball subs to more offbeat originals like vegan chickpea fritter sandwiches with banana peppers and roasted garlic-tahini dressing.
The restaurant augments its regular sandwiches with seasonal specials and an evening-only burger, which commands quite a following all its own.
