Tanta - Chicago
Famed Peruvian chef/restaurateur Gaston Acurio--who boasts more than 30 restaurants around the globe--brought his brand to Chicago in 2013. Additional locations for Tanta are in Lima, Peru and Barcelona, Spain. Expect typical Peruvian fare like anticuchos, ceviche and causas, but they've all undergone modern updates.
The cocktail and Peruvian-focused spirit offerings are also a big part of Tanta's appeal. Diners may indulge in a unique selection of pisco spirits--the official national spirit of Peru--as well as pisco-enhanced cocktails and seasonal drinks made with gin, rum and tequila.
There are also small-batch wines by the glass and locally produced craft beers.
