Red Door

One of my favorite places in Chicago. When I first moved here 3 years ago this was one of the first bars we went too. I have not tried their food yet, but looking forward to that day. Very chill place and the beer garden is great for large groups.

This is a patio only review but I can also say I peeped in the inside and it looked pretty cute too! The perfect-sized patio contains long community tables and draped lights overhead. Red Door is a good spot to drink a summer beer (or 10) and share some smaller plates with lovers/friends. Our waitress was attentive and relaxed, and it wasn't overly crowded on a Tuesday evening.

Came here during restaurant week and was delighted. The vegetarian courses were excellent though a little lacking in size compared to the meat counterparts. Interestingly enough they only offered the restaurant week courses rather than their entire normal menu. Overall the food was great and our waiter was very friendly and helpful. For cocktails I recommend the Lower Lights and the Easy Street.

Red Door is a really great small restaurant. The food was different but still good. I had a burger and it had a bacon-onion jelly on it... very interesting and great! The pork belly dish was also delicious. The staff is also absolutely amazing; our waiter was always there when we needed him to be and he was quick to recommend us a few different dishes, since we had no idea what some of the stuff on the menu was. He was very patient with us and made our experience even more enjoyable!

Love love love the outdoor space, this is a true gem in the summer. The beer list was really interesting, and the bartender had us try a few before we selected...smart. The drink menu is also fun, will definitely try something new next time. Food was good, although service of our food was a bit sporadic. Our waitress was great though, had a ton of energy and gave us wonderful recommendations. We loved the rhubarb salad, the fried clams, grilled oysters, asparagus and the short ribs.
