We stayed at the Thompson Hotel. Went down for breakfast around 9am on Saturday and was told that there was 20 minutes wait. I pointed out all the empty tables and even tried to sit at the bar but apparently they are very short staffed. It was exactly 20 minutes wait time. We knew exactly what we were going to order because we looked at the menu during the wait so as soon as the server came, we ordered. It was a little over 30 minutes for the food to come out. We ordered Yellow tomato conchiglie, braised short rib, pan seared scallop, angel hair & meatballs and steak & eggs! My favorite was the yellow tomato conchiglie, we added extra shrimp. The braised short rib was good and fatty. Everything else was not bad, just basic.

Brunch food was meh. Quiche was super small. Like literally a small triangle with salad leaves on top. Barely warm, not the freshly baked one. $15 for that. And a teabag tea is $7! That's the most expensive teabag. If tea is $7 I'd expect an amazing loose leaf tea with a lot of variety. Also service was just not there. It's definitely not a 3 $$$ restaurant. 2 $$ at most. The chocolate croissant though. The best I've had in a while.

I am so glad that I went on a whim to see if they would accept walk-ins because it was sad to see that it was fully booked or unavailable online whenever I try to see if they were available at 8:30 p.m. We had Julia who was such an incredible server. If you are going to go here you need to ask for her because she knew the menu so up and down. She had amazing service and she went the absolute distance with recommendations as well as getting information from the chef for me. I highly highly recommend the boar, and that's being from Texas. I've never had it prepared so rare and soft and incredible. And while I do believe that their wine menu needs some help with some actual wines not using additives, I think that everything else, including the ambiance, was just awesome. Definitely going to come back here again if I'm ever in Chicago again.

Delightful and patient staff helped my friend and me navigate the menu. Crudo menu was fantastic; we ordered everything. Then shared one item from each course which has a lot of vegetarian options. Valet seemed pricey at $35 but we were there for almost four hours, so maybe that's standard for a hotel valet in the Gold Coast.

Service was good but the food just didn’t pop. The cauliflower tasted boiled with minimal flavor. The burger was greasy and was cooked at too low a temperature. And the scallops weren’t seared enough for my taste. The best dish was the lamb pasta.

A recent Sunday dinner left us impressed and wanting for more of the gastronomic wizardry! We went in for a casual drink and some oysters. However, the scallops really changed the course of the evening. Possibly the best scheme of flavours and texture scallops can be consumed as!. My wife and I had to repeat the order to satisfy our senses. We got the salmon as our second (technically third) course and that too was quite something! Beautifully seared with interesting sides and the salmon itself was top notch! Looking forward to head there soon.

Restaurant was standard for the area. No complaints about food, prices, portions, or decor, but no particular praise either. Our server was nice, but the service was otherwise HORRIBLE. For example, even getting a beverage that only required them to bring a pre-bottled soft drink took multiple requests and at least 15min. And it was downhill from there. If someone had acknowledged the problem, I would have been more understanding. The final straw was when someone was snippy regarding the sorbet, which literally took 20 minutes to arrive.
