This place isn’t worth the money at all, and their customer service sucks. We spent almost $250 on food and regret every penny. First, one of the items was forgotten but it was just a side so it’s not a big deal. But the food was pretty underwhelming in general, especially the sides we actually received. But then the stomach cramping started. Within 20 minutes of finishing my food I was glued to the toilet.
It started to get uglier so we decided to call the restaurant and let them know I got violently ill from eating their food. I know for a fact it was this restaurant because I did not consume anything else that day since we were busy and not home. A male employee answered the phone, who called over a female manager who was on duty. She was so rude and interrogated us asking if I’m used to eating spicy food (I am) and if I was allergic to something I ate (I’m not). After I explained to her that I have been eating spicy foods for 15+ years, she just bluntly said “so what do you want?”. We really didn’t want anything besides to notify them but she didn’t even stick around for an answer, she just handed the phone back to the man who answered the phone. We were then told the owner would send us an email about this.
The email was an automated email demanding to know what I ate, when we picked it up, when we ate it, when if i ate anything else that day, etc. Basically trying to reframe the situation and place blame on me or another food that I ate. My stomach had been 100% fine leading up to this experience. They definitely don’t care about their customers and severely lack empathy. It’s a shame because we were excited to have a seafood place so close to home, but restaurants are a dime-a-dozen in Chicago so we will definitely be telling our neighbors not to bother eating here.
