Kashmir - Chicago

Do you like to drink and dance with beautiful people? Yes! Then Kashmir is for you. This latest addition to the Bonhomme Hospitality portfolio of restaurants is just a bar...but what a bar!

Kashmir is maybe the super hottest place to open on the super hot Randolph Street strip in quite a while. It's designed under the direction of Daniel Alonso's Maison Bonhomme, and as the website explains, "Standout elements inside Kashmir include walls and ceilings draped in over 1000 yards of The New Ye-Yé fabric collection created by Quintana Partners, an imposing cocktail bar made entirely of green onyx, a collection of hand-blown Murano crystal appliques and chandeliers, a monumental Coppibartali Light by Viabizzuno and iconic Terrazza sofas."

Says Alonso, "“Our goal and job is to titillate and provoke, to make people react with the music and performances. We’re trying to hit the ‘holy trinity,’ which I think is pretty rare: a great cocktail bar with a vivacious, lively environment where 100 of your closest friends can drink comfortably and have fun.”

There's a good selection of wine and some great-sounding cocktails. To wit: Space Cowboy (Tequila, coconut, rectified pineapple juice, sparkling water, and, you probably guessed it, Strawberry Disco Dust) and the Brown Butter Espresso Martini (Japanese vodka, Kashmir coffee cordial, brown butter, fresh espresso). There is also bottle service, of course, and a good selection of wine, many available by the glass. What's on offer at Kashmir -- besides a very sexy vibe -- is a lot of drinks and currently no food, so you may want to grab a bite nearby before the party begins (and goes until 3am).

Be forewarned, there is a dress code: No baseball caps, sports attire, athletic wear, exposed chains, or flip flops. No large bags, backpacks, or professional camera equipment.

If you feel like you might fit in with all the beautiful people at Kashmir, then by all means, belly up to the bar and dance the night away.
