They were pretty busy on Friday night but our wait wasn’t bad. It’s a very fun restaurant with many rooms well decorated. Our server was kind. She brought our drinks and we ordered the seafood stuffed mushrooms (yum!). I had lasagna - it was ok. Not the best, not the worst. But I did order a side of the Alfredo sauce and that made it better! The salad is absolutely delicious. We even bought some of the dressing to take home! We’ll give it another shot when we are back in Galena.
Loved this place!! Make reservations if there are a lot in your group! The food was plentiful and super delish.. drinks good and the atmosphere made you think you were really in Italy! We will be back!!
Wow, this place has been recommended to me for years. I was excited to try it out, and it left a lot to be desired. I don't believe for a second that anything was "made from scratch"....and if it was, it was cooked improperly. I don't think there was anything authentic about it. I should have known when a shaker of Kraft parmesan (although in a nice shaker) was set down on the table. The best part about this place is the staff. Service was impeccable. The second best part was the atmosphere, it's a cute place with intimate nooks for dining.
Fantastic..this is based on a 2014 visit so memory is a little hazy. I do recall an exquisite plate of stuffed shells and stuffed mushrooms (not sure if these are still on the menu as of 2022). Overall a nice experience and atypical vintage atmosphere. We are planning to return this Summer, so there will be an update.
Summary: Fairly bland and overpriced food. Nice environment and scenery however. Details: Coming into the restaurant, you're met with an interesting building with a lot of nooks and crannies for intimate dining experiences. The place was quite nice looking. However, all of this falls short in terms of the food. The fried ravioli was average, and the garlic bread left more to be desired. The salad was probably what we enjoyed the most. I had the Carbonara and it was rather bland. Needed salt, pepper, and more butter for the Fettuccini. This aligns with recent reviews for the food. My partner's food was similar as well, being rather bland in taste. The portion was particularly small for the prices as well. Overall, it's a nice scenery, but perhaps we came on a bad day or the food quality has decreased over the years/due to Covid restrictions.
