Smyth + The Loyalist - Chicago
In a neighborhood teeming with celebrity chefs, trendy restaurants and high-concept cocktail lounges, it's a challenge to stand out. But husband-wife duo John Shields and Karen Urie Shields have managed to capture the local foodie world's attention in the West Loop with their dual concept.
Housed in a bi-level building, the first floor is the more casual of the two (The Loyalist), while the second floor skews higher end with only tasting menus (Smyth). The informal atmosphere features an open kitchen surrounded by intimate tables and a cozy living room-style lounge.
All menus are seasonal.
