Ruth’s Chris Steak House - Midlothian

Ruth's Chris' Richmond outpost is especially popular with theatergoers. It's a short drive to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts as well as Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and Byrd Theater.

The chain boasts locations all over the country and it's known best for USDA prime steaks--from a filet to Porterhouse for two prepared tableside--cooked at 500 degrees. Specialty entrees include Caribbean lobster tail, lobster mac and cheese, and lamb chops served with fresh mint.

While Ruth's Chris specializes in steaks, it cranks out one of the best-ever roast chicken entrees, which is stuffed with garlic herb cheese. The restaurant also commands an extensive and impressive wine menu.

Amazing ! Excellent service ! Piano man played beautiful music . Ms. Brígitta our server treated us like royalty . Thank you for a wonderful Birthday present . Almost forgot the food was to die for. A Mac and cheese with lobster just to mention one unbelievable . I could keep on going but just plan a visit and you will not be disappointed . Thanks

The steak is awesome! I love the sizzle in the plate! The overall experience was okay. Eventhough we had reservations, we were sat in the small backroom. Was expecting to be in the main dining room to hear the piano. Wife has a dairy allergy and was up-charged for a side that came with the three course and was charged for a small cup of fruit, eventhough fruit came with the included dessert. Even without pointing out the additional charges the check was messed up. But overall it was okay, expected a little better for the amount paid.

Sad, just sad. This was my first visit to the renowned Ruth Chris. I know dress codes are more relaxed and I can accept that... I know its is so very hard to find staff and it is not the server's fault if they are not aware. I do hold management responsible for not properly training folks. We were there for a special occasion and we left disappointed. We ordered champagne. The server didn't know and tried to open the top with the wine opener corkscrew. That's ok, I opened it. We didn't get champagne glasses so it was poured in wine glasses which allows the effervescence of the wine to dissipate very fast. I expected the server to run these procedures through the male companion paying for the meal, not me. Food was fine though by no means stellar. Poor girl. She tried so hard. The whole thing was not the experience I expected. We will never recommend nor will we ever return.

The whole evening was delightful from start to finish. The ambience is very sophisticated. The food is beyond amazing. This is a great place to go for a special occasion. Very fancy!

My husband and I come here a lot and each time the service, ambience, food and drinks are EXCELLENT! We've never had a bad experience here. We love the live piano as background music during our dinners. We will continue coming here!

Absolutely LOVE this place! My family and I are frequent dinners and they never disappoint. Our steaks are always cooked perfectly and you cannot go wrong with the extra butter! Best Crème brûlée around and great service always.
