O'Malley's West

I'm only rating this place on food. The bartender was very sweet and service was great. They had the windows open so you can sit inside which is nice....

This is a cool sports bar in the heart of wicker park. Even better it's a 49ers bar now so I have a place to watch my team! Came here early before the game...

O'Malley's West is pretty decidedly a MSU bar. We watched a football game there and it was almost like being in East Lansing for a game. The staff was all friendly and attentive, but the music they played during commercials was borderline too loud to allow for any decent conversation with friends.

I won't bother coming back to O'Malley's West. The bar had maybe 12 patrons when I came for Wednesday night trivia, but the bartender ignored me to flirt with some questionably aged girls from DePaul. The bartender was rude, slow, and a bit of a jerk. Their menu isn't what they show online; the location actually has a much smaller menu. The veggie burger was flavorless and overpriced. Topping off the night was the bartendee giving me a non-itemized receipt that was at least double what it should have been. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Also, the basement where the bathrooms are smells dank and moldy, and the ladies bathroom is dirty with broken fixtures.

O'Malley's is a nice place to hang out and catch an MSU game. They used to have awesome specials on Jameson, but recently raised the prices. Upstairs dance floor area is peretty decent, though.

This place is WAY too loud. It is either dead, or jammed packed with the 20-something frat crowd. Becareful, your feet will stick to the floor. The bartenders also could use some training in customer service. Poor choice for bar outings with friends!
