Mike’s Place - Conway
An obsession with New Orleans culture inspired Mike Coats and his wife to open a steakhouse-focused restaurant in Conway, Arkansas. Mike's Place is homey and nostalgic with old brick, wrought iron, fountains and plants surrounding the interior. The space in which the restaurant is situated was originally built in 1907.
In addition to steaks, the menu features seafood from the Gulf Coast. Appetizer selections clearly reflect his inspirations. Choose from shrimp Brantley, jumbo shrimp sauteed in a traditional New Orleans-style sauce, topped with parmesan and served with a grilled baguette, to Cajun fish bites. Of course, there are fried green tomatoes, deep-fried blue crab slaws, and shrimp & cheese fritters.
Entree choices range from pecan-encrusted whitefish to an aged New York strip. There's also prime rib, which is served with a signature home-made beef au jus. Choose from full cut and grande cut.
