Mable's Table - Chicago
Now open in Bucktown's former, longstanding Jane's space, Mable's Table is an homage to moms from chef Anthony Reyes. In a world where fast-casual restaurants are dominating the dining landscape, Mable's Table is a return to homemade recipes and chef-driven plates inspired by time-tested home cooking. In the kitchen, Reyes draws direct influence from his own mother's recipes, sharing them with diners in an ambience that's warm, inviting and ultimately homey.
The restaurant serves small plates with a focus on American fare, like country ham and cheese boards, roasted mussels, grilled oysters, steaks, chops and meatloaf.
The chef himself has quite the pedigree, bringing his chops to Bucktown in a big way. Formerly, he was named one of the city's Top 20 Chefs by Chicago Style Magazine, and he was one of three chefs chosen to prepare President George W. Bush's 60th birthday dinner in Chicago. Prior to Mable's Table, he served as executive chef with the esteemed Rosebud Group.
