Herman’s Ribhouse - Fayetteville
Every venue has a backstory, but in the case of Herman's Ribhouse, it's quite fascinating. The land on which eventually became the restaurant was once owned by P.M. Pace, who in 1929 built a house, raised livestock, and farmed the land. Several years later, in 1941, he sold an acre to Rolla H. Fitch, who was the first to open a restaurant on the land.
Herman Tuck bought the venue in 1964 and transformed it into what's known today as Herman's Ribhouse. From ribs to a giant t-bone steak, the restaurant was clearly meat-centric. In subsequent years, new owners added more items to the menu, mostly classic, steakhouse-focused items like filet mignon, BBQ chicken, prime rib, and a 40-ounce bone-in ribeye named in honor of its founder.
After all these years, the restaurant remains a classic, non-pretentious establishment.
