Goose Island Salt Shed Pub - Chicago
A brewpub with a riverfront patio sounds 
like a place that will make a lot of Chicagoans happy. The Goose Island name is known nationwide, and this new location for brews and food is likely to be a big hit.
Of Goose Island Salt Shed Pub, The Infatuation writes, "The new location is just a few blocks from the original Clybourn taproom, with a patio and skyline view. Besides Goose beers and regular bar food, expect classics like the smashburger and Bourbon County stout milkshake, and new options like gnocchi mac and cheese or a burnt carrot sandwich."
It should be noted that this pub is attached to the Salt Shed entertainment space, making this a good place to enjoy the classic one-two punch of dinner and a show.
The menu reflects a strong pub orientation: much of the food is served on a bun...with fries. In addition to the aforementioned smash burger, there's also a very popular fried chicken sandwich with gochujang. kimchi slaw, kewpie mayo and pickles. Other popular menu items include the smoked trout melt, fish, cheese and capers served on house-spent grain bread; fish and chips with fresh minted peas; and a frank n' beans with jalapeño jam.
Looking for just a nibble: the famous pub chips are on the menu, as are pork rinds and wings (BBQ or General Tso's).
The beer menu is big, as you might expect, and it's all about the Goose Island favorites (no surprise, right?!). There's Honker's Ale, 312 and Green Line, but there are also some sips that you'd have a hard time finding anywhere else. For instance, there are several Bourbon County Stouts, including the 2023 Bourbon County Brand Cask Finish Stout and an aperitivo stout, which sounds like an excellent way to close a big beautiful dinner. And count on the Goose Island Salt Shed Pub to be the place where you can be the first to sample all the new Goose Islands brews.
