I really enjoyed this place but looks like they are now closed/out of business. Been locked up since mid-June with a sign on the door they will be closed "June 20 and 22l but hasn't opened up and it's July 4. Anyone know what's going on? Would be too bad if they closed - great neighborhood place with good food.

I cannot say enough about the dining experience my girlfriend and I had at Fornello. We sat at a high-top table at the front of the bar, as we wished to sample the $1 oysters. As we were discussing it, the manager, who was seating customers as they came in, heard us discussing it and guided us to our table. He then asked if we still wanted oysters and placed the order as we were sitting down. After drinks were delivered, the oysters followed immediately and were devoured. They were better than most $1 oysters, and we decided to order 6 more. The server (the bartender), Cheryl, was quick, efficient and super helpful in making entree decisions. We were both greatly surprised with the dishes and loved every bite. We would highly recommend visiting this location again and very likely will make this a regular destination on a regular basis! Two thumbs up! Accepts credit cards. 10 beers and a few wines on tap. Full bar. Orders to go. Fully attentive staff. Good work!

I live in the area and have ordered from here multiple times 3 ways: eat-in, carry-out, and delivery. Carry out portions appear to be smaller than when dining in and can be a bit pricey. When eating in, Eliot the host, is super friendly and attentive. I like that he gives us one menu to snuggle close over and makes suggestions on what to order-- which I have ordered, unfortunately, I did not think they were worth writing home about. I know Rachael Ray has endorsed this restaurant, so I was expecting it to be fantastic. It's good enough to satiate my quest for Italian comfort food until I get off my lazy butt and make my own 2 hour meat sauce. I do like their fresh warm bread that they bring out as an appetizer with a tomato based sauce with a dash of grated parmesan cheese. They kindly oblige when we ask for more! - Bruschetta was soggy by the time it was delivered and not very flavorful. - Baked clams were pretty good. - Spaghetti is completely mediocre, like it was out of a jar. - Wild Boar Ragu with freshly made pappardelle, meat was tender and noodles were al dente but overall, needed more seasoning. - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Timballo Macaroni - love this dish!
