FARE - Chicago

They say breakfast is the "most important meal of the day," and if you have breakfast at FARE, that maxim will most definitely prove true. Opening and closing early, FARE has breakfast/lunch locations all around Chicago; the location on Wacker Drive is the newest.

It would be very difficult to come to breakfast or lunch at a FARE location and not feel, when you leave, that you're just a little bit healthier. With restaurants designed for a quick bite during the regular business day, FARE is committed to serving food that will give you the energy and positive outlook to get through the day.

With a tight focus on seasonal, sustainable, and dietary-restrictive foods. FARE was founded by Kasia Bednarz and Brini deLeon who started operations at the Wells Street Market. With prepared foods and dietary staples that have for long been on the shelves at Dom’s Market and Local Foods, the new location at From Here On (the food hall in the beautifully renovated Old Post Office building) is an oasis of good vibes. Ms. deLeon told us that, “"We aim to be a welcome retreat in the loop offering healthy and satisfying bowls, toasts, baked goods and coffee."

In addition to traditional smoothies, there are also bowl-based options like the Blue Smoothie Bowl (wild blueberries, bananas, almonds ,cinnamon, Lemon Scented Granola and bananas) and the Pink Smoothie Bowl (strawberries, beets, pineapple, tahini. Lemon Scented Granola and bananas).

If you're the kind of person who is thinking about lunch as you're having breakfast, you can grab take-away items like the Raw Detox Salad (beets, carrots, cucumbers, kale. and curried tahini) chickpeas and the Curry Chickpea Wrap (curried tahini chickpeas, shredded cabbage and kale in a hearty wrap).

You get the picture: at FARE, it's impossible *not* to make a healthy choice.
