Eppy's Deli was awesome! Found it on accident with a few of my co-workers. The owner was very nice and explained how everything worked as it was our first time there. They also had this awesome deal on soup, whatever the temp was outside (today was -10), that's how much the soup cost, in our case, we got 10 cents PAID to us! How cool! I got the Turkey pastrami and it was really good, the meat was so fresh and getting either 2 cold sides or one hot side AND a drink for under 10 dollars is AWESOME! Will visit again :)

DO NOT LISTEN TO POOR REVIEWS! I was looking for a good place to get a good, cheap, sandwich. With Almost any place in Chicago offering exceptional sandwiches, I began to hunt for price, and quality. A few people in the office had referred me over this way, and being it was only a 5 min walk, I decided to check it out. Upon arrival I noticed it does not look or feel like a sandwich shop, in fact it looks more like a restaurant. The seating can fit parties up to 6, or you can just hit the quick serve lunch and be on your way. I also had the opportunity to speak with the owner when I walked in. I told him I had never been to his place, so he began to explain. Long story short, this place will NOT "nickel and dime" you, as he put it. I agree, the service was excellent, and the price on the board for the meal, means that's what your paying for your meal. Not like the other sandwich giants that will add 3-5$ on a supposed 5$ sandwich. I ordered the Rubin w/corned beef, 2 cold sides, soup and a drink for under 10$. If you ask me the choice is clear. I suppose you can stick to the sandwich giant, but I"ll tell you what. You will not find that service, price, or quality any where else in the city. Not with in a sandwich shop anyway. I highly recommend checking this place out and decide for yourself.

Eppy's Deli seems like one of those places that should be better than it is. The place was packed for lunch hour and the staff seemed to be rushed and not having the best customer service because of it. Even with the staff clearly rushing the wait still felt long and the attitude of the staff felt rather rushed. I get wanting to get the food out but service with a smile is important for a deli type of atmosphere. Not great but the place was packed so even with it being lunch hour that should be a good sign for the food right? Well yes and no. The yes? And it's a big yes.. The Ruben I had was pretty amazing. It's a staple deli sandwich for me to judge places by and this one stood up out there. Piled high with thin cut meat, just the right amount of dressing, and the sauerkraut and rye bread both tasted flavorful and fresh. The no? The 'chili' (I would call something that watery soup myself) just did not thrill me. The sides kind of fell in the same boat for me as they really just weren't memorable. So. I war torn to give this a or a 3 an the only reason it received the 3 was from how much I had enjoyed the sandwich (which is why I went to a deli in the first place.) What I have to say is that it's worth it if you are getting a sandwich to go and have a bag of chips at the office already. If you are planning on eating there or looking for anything more? This would not be where I would recommend for you to stop.

Nothing outstanding. But good quality food used in sandwiches.
