Delish Diner is an old fashioned diner in Wicker Park owned and operated by a Wicker Park native. From the kitschy decor to the hearty, nostalgic food, Delish is a true throwback to the age of Americana diners. The space is airy and comfortable, complete with numerous squishy booths. The menu adheres to diner traditions with patty melts, pancakes, French toast, burgers, milkshakes, and lots more.

Awhile back, I wanted to try a new restaurant one day so I decided to try out a hipster joint. Delish Diner popped up so I ordered the albacore tuna salad and a Delish Burger. Food came faster than I expected and I couldn't wait to try it. The "Delish" Burger looked good on paper, but paper doesn't always translate well physically. It tasted alright, nothing special, just your average burger even though it had a few different ingredients on it such as having an sunny side up egg as a topping. The tuna salad was the blandest tuna salad I've ever had and the serving size seemed like it was 1 ice cream scoop of tuna. The prices were pretty ridiculous ($9 for the small amount of tuna and $8 for the small burger) which are expected from a hipster joint. I quickly forgot about the food just as fast as I ate it. If you're looking for "exotic" food with enticing descriptions and super inflated prices then look no further. Typical hipster mess. I'm glad I went for delivery instead of picking it up myself since having to deal with skinny jeans, pretentiousness, "cash only" policies, and wanna-be "gourmet" food would've dropped it down to 1-star.

Ambiance here is pretty pleasant - large booths, wooden bar, tin ceiling, etc. Prices are right. I got a delicious omelette with breakfast potatoes (pan fried) and toast for under $9. They have a limited drink menu, but all the usual cocktails and enough beer options. Friends got a ruben, monte cristo and burger - all were tasty. My group of 4 were the only folks in the diner for a 7pm dinner on Saturday night. May be in part due to the holiday (was a few days after Christmas), but I don't suspect they are ever a really hopping place. Good choice if you are in the area, but not worth a special trip.

This place is great. I try and go there about once a month for some cheap beer and a great burger for just around 10$ but the burger is not cheap its delish. The owners are really nice guys and the service is great. I cant ask for a more solid restaurant.

Because this place is a diner and their windows were painted, I guess I was expecting it to be greasy and awful. Boy was I wrong! The bacon was crispy and not overly greasy, they service attentive, the menu robust, and they had board games and outdoor seating! The entire experience was great and the interior looks like something out of a 1950's movie. I now understand what "lunch counter" means. Big plans to take my parents here when they come to town. Until then, more crispy bacon please?
