This used to be one of our group's favorite places! Unfortunately, most of us have now grown to really despise this location.
Even before the pandemic, the management, and a few specific employees and wine-tenders, had become growingly discourteous, disrespectful and condescending. It may be because this location has become very busy over the last few years, and they have to deal with a lot of people, and a lot of situations on a regular basis. But that is part of being in the hospitality industry, and is absolutely NO excuse for the way they inappropriately treat their customers. I owned 3 restaurants for 8 years, and if you no longer want to do it, then close your doors.
Now that the pandemic is winding down, and the state mask mandate has been lifted, and every other restaurant is opening back up like normal, Coopers Hawk remains STUCK in "Pandemic Mode 2020". Not only do they now require reservations for the tasting room, and somehow manage to screw those up on a regular basis, but you only have 45 minutes to finish and GET OUT. And they make SURE you know that by RUSHING you through the wines as quickly as humanly possible.
Our most recent visit was easily the worst experience we have ever had there. And was anything but enjoyable. We would have ALL rather stayed HOME instead of being subjected to the kind of treatment that we received. And to top off the already miserable experience, the manager even came over to scornfully inform us that we were "not allowed to STAND 2x2" and were "required to maintain a single line against the bar". It was truly unbelievable.
It saddens me to have to finally acknowledge the undeniable fact that it is well beyond time to part ways with this now horrific and honestly dreadful location, as it has become the embodiment of how NOT to run a restaurant. What a WASTE of what used to be such a great place and friendly staff. 😔
