Apogee - Chicago
They're also responsible for revered cocktail-focused projects The Berkshire Room and The Sixth.
Apogee replaces Vertigo Sky Lounge on top of the Dana Hotel in River North. It's a much sleeker affair now that The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group has taken over--with the award-winning Benjamin Schiller at the helm. They're also responsible for revered cocktail-focused projects The Berkshire Room and The Sixth.
The lounge is very high concept, wowing customers with an experience to remember when it comes to large-format cocktails. There's the State Street Sangria, which serves two to four; Spirit Animal, a flamboyant display where up to four guests choose from vodka, bourbon or tequila; and The Oracle, a $400 concoction serving up to six and made of vodka, Bird’s Eye pepper, ginger, pear, Thai basil and aromatic bitters.
For those looking for a cocktail for one, there are plenty to choose from, plus Apogee offers a luxury list of spirits, wine and craft beer. The most notable offering is a $15,000 bottle of Pappy Van Winkle.
