Arthur and Gertrude Anderson founded their candy shop in 1919 on Armitage Avenue in Chicago, then moved to its present location in Richmond in 1926. Today, the founders' grandsons, Leif and Lars Anderson, carry on the family tradition of hand-dipped and molded chocolates, chocolate-covered fruits and other traditional confections, all made on the premises the same way they have been since the beginning.

At first, I couldn't believe we just spent $38 on candy. We bought the chocolate bars and they were amazing! Even my friend who doesn't like sweets loved them. I intended to take a few bites of my dark chocolate pecan bar but ended up eating the whole thing! I have to eat gluten-free and was very happy to find out that several of their candies are gluten free. Besides candy, they have a lot of cute and unique things that you can buy. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town.
