Al's #1 Italian Beef - Wrigleyville

Tasty sandwich and friendly staff! We were excited to try our first Chicago Italian beef and one of my friends said this is the place with the best. The beef was tender and moist, fries were crispy. I gave a 4 because I think it’s a little overhyped.

I went to this location on 8/14/2022 and I loved the experience. It was my first time trying this restaurant and visiting the neighborhood. I had the regular Italian beef with Hot peppers and a lemonade as my drink. The man who placed my order was amazing and answered all my questions. Highly recommend

3 stars for their customer service and dirt bathrooms. No soap to wash one's hands. The beef sandwich was really good. The meat was very tender and thin. The guy taking our order was rude and didn't explain what goes on the sandwich even after telling him it was our first time eating this iconic chicago meal. I could probably try them again next time I'm in the area and hope for a better customer service experience.

Awesome experience! I live in Arizona now so anytime I visit Chicago it’s a must that I stop at Al’s. The food is a bit pricy but the quality and taste ease the pain. The fries are also worth mentioning. They were cooked just the way I like them. The staff at the register was respectful and charismatic.

Stopped by here for a quick bite, had a polish sausage and Italian beef. Very good. Got the combos. Staff was very friendly and food was really good. Would recommend if you are in the area.

O.M.G!!!! The best thing I ate in Chicago! I had never tried Italian Beef - hands down, it is the thing to eat in Chicago. I feel so lucky that Al's was my first 😆. If you are going to Wrigley, stop here to get Italian Beef to go - it's better than any food in the park. We ordered it dipped 😋 delish! It was so good we're changing our lunch plans to get takeout tomorrow from the location close to the Loop. This sandwich might not change your life, but then again, it just might.

I love this place…but…today, the gentleman that took our orders was a rude, sad man. I’m not going to stop coming here after years because of him, but newcomers will feel like garbage after this sad, short, condescending little fella takes their order. He also looked like he had whopper jr hands. At one of my first jobs I had to serve people sandwiches as well but I was much more polite and was only 16. He is a grown man, most likely paying his rent doing this and I actually just feel bad for him at this point.

The inside was closed when we got there, so we had to order takeout while waiting outside. Granted, that was around 1am, but it still would be helpful to specify that somewhere so there are no misunderstandings. Other than that, these guys are #1 for a reason! Phenomenal sandwiches that never disappoint.
