Brunch Bites: Boiler Room and Frontier

In this week's batch of brunch bites, Boiler Room cooks up brunch specials and Frontier rolls out new menu items.

Boiler Room
Do this for brunch at Boiler Room.

A pizza and beer bar may not seem like the most obvious choice for weekend brunch, but you'd be remiss in missing out on Boiler Room's brunchy fare. The Logan Square spot is featuring brunch specials on Saturdays and Sundays such as the PBS — pizza, Bloody Mary, and a small beer back — for $8.50, with a few by-the-slice options to choose from, including the signature brunch slice with bacon and egg. Weekend brunch specials are served from noon until 4:00 p.m. every weekend. Other brunch specials include a fresh fruit pizza and one topped with cream, cheese, waffles, and sausage.

In other brunch news, things are getting burly over at Frontier. The West Town bar and restaurant recently rolled out a handful of unique new brunch dishes courtesy of executive chef Brian Jupiter. These include a crispy duck leg with sweet potato waffle, sunny side up quail egg, cranberry maple syrup, and Calabrian pepper cream cheese; an ostrich juicy Lucy with Gouda, caramelized leeks, and foie gras mayo; lamb "ham" biscuits and gravy with cheddar-leek biscuits and lamb heart country gravy; and a ham and cheese sandwich made with ancho- and coffee-cured ham, Swiss cheese, pickled Brussels sprouts, horseradish Dijon mustard, and red eye gravy with rosemary fries.
