Wok n Fire - St. Charles

My family and I went for a special occasion. The location has changed from downtown St. Charles to East St. Charles area. The drinks were delicious but expensive at about $15 for a cocktail. The appetizers and entrés were good. Service was good as well. Not an authentic cuisine experience, but a good one.

Our bad experience started by being seated at a table by the door when only one other couple was in the entire place. Service by our waitress was horrible. No refills. And we were not even attended to. The food was sub-par at best. Tasted like the food at the food court in the mall. Way over priced for the quality. I will not be coming back. Don't waste your time or money.

Ordered delivery/take out from here last night. Sushi rolls were very small and mostly rice. I basically got a rice roll with the smallest bit of shrimp in it. It was one piece of shrimp used for the whole roll. The other rolls were also 90% rice. Also the fried rice tasted like the veggies were freezer burnt and had cleaning solution in it. Would not order again, very disappointing.

Wok n Fire is one of my favorite sushi restaurants. I have eaten many tunes at the Wheaton and St Charles locations. They had a special event that night with a fresh #200 tuna. I was lucky enough to enjoy the tuna without attending the $150/plate event. The tuna was melt in your mouth fantastic. The staff were friendly and attentive. The Island Breaze drinks were delicious. We will definitely be back.

Just wanted to take a moment to compliment the service we received from Nelson this evening. You guys were super busy, the restaurant was at capacity, and he was fantastic! I appreciate a server who does a great job, and he handled our table of 4 adults and 2 children with a perfect display of relaxed competence. Well done! We will definitely come back to this place.

Have been frequenting here since the soft opening! Love the Food, and the Sake Bar. So gratifying to see this plane come along. Can’t wait til the grand opening! (Looking Forward to that Sushi/Sake Bar!)

I never leave reviews but this was just such a disappointing experience. We loved Wok N Fire at its old location. When we walked in tonight, we were surprised at how bare and plain it was-no decor, nothing on the walls. The other location had such a cool vibe. We ordered three sushi rolls and waited 45 minutes to get them. Our waitress didn’t know how to use her tablet to place our order so I literally had to help her find each item on her screen. It seemed like they tried to open before they were staffed, trained, decorated, or prepared. *Maybe* we’d try it again several months from now once they get the kinks worked out (because the food was good), but otherwise, we would just do carry out or go somewhere else. Very disappointing.

Accepted an Uber eats order and arrived at restaurant 10 minutes later. The restaurant was not busy at all and during my time I seen 6 driver's in there with me waiting at one time. I got the food after 25 minutes of waiting. One driver was still there when I left and he was there before I got there... I give a three stars because I'm sure the food and service is good but that was not a pleasant experience to wait especially when I have to get to another pick up. I'm in and out of 95% of restaurants in a minute or less. I'd hope this is not a regular occurrence. I'd really like to know why there was a wait like that and I'll be more than happy to change my review.

It was good service was a bit slow but the food more than made up for it
