I ordered the wild salmon filet (7.8 to 8.6oz) and the sautéed spinach with garlic. Delivery arrived on time. Food was hot. No fork or napkin. The salmon...
I was a huge fan of Candle Cafe and bummer they closed during the pandemic as I have been going there for years looking forward to a visit each time I was...
Such a lovely experience and great food, will definitely return! (PS get the cheesecake!)
All of our food was amazing. We had the okra, grits, mushroom sandwich, and cornbread and they were all very good. The sandwich and the cornbread were especially tasty. 4 stars because the cornbread coming out late is obviously a serious issue that could easily be solved. The cornbread comes out 30-40 minutes after everything else. We had finished all of our food 15 minutes before the cornbread arrived and I assumed it wasn't even coming until I asked the hostess where it was and he said it was typical for it to take that long. Either call it a dessert on the menu (which it is, it's so sweet) or specify on the menu that it will take 45 minutes from the time you order it to come out. Problem solved.
Quite a unique vegan restaurant serving soul food-inspired dishes. You would need to book more than a week in advance to get a table, but it's worth it. I highly recommend trying the buffalo oyster mushroom burger. It's a bit spicy, but very tasty. Also recommend trying the southern fried lasagna and maple buttermilk cornbread. One caveat with the lasagna is that the quantity is a bit small for the price. It also is somewhat unique as it looks like fried spring rolls. Indoor dining is a bit tight, so it may be better to pick an outdoor seat if you want space.
