Rare Society

Rare Society - San Diego

The Trust Restaurant Group is best known for its flagship properties Fort Oak and Trust. With Rare Society, they decided to a go a bit provocative with a steakhouse boasting a sexy throwback atmosphere.

The menus are just as enticing as the décor, which includes hard wood accents, vintage light fixtures, gilded ceilings and walls, and buttery leather chairs and booths. You'll want to start with the seafood tower, which includes oysters, shrimp cocktail, clams, snow crab legs, and Maine lobster salad. For those who prefer their seafood cooked, there is also wood-grilled Maine lobster, steamed clams, a jumbo lump crab cake, and oyster Rockefeller on the appetizer menu.

All proteins are wood grilled at Rare Society. Guests may choose from an eight-ounce filet to a 20-ounce 40-day dry-aged bone-in New York strip for steaks to Scottish salmon. Side dishes are served family style at this boisterous eatery. They include truffled cream spinach, pickled fried onion rings, roasted mushrooms, oven-roasted asparagus, and wood-roasted root vegetables.
