Portage Theater - Chicago
Designed by architect Henry Newhouse, this historic movie theater opened on Dec. 11, 1920 with 1,938 seats in a megaphone-shaped auditorium with beaux-arts opera house design. It was recently refurbished and restored to its 1920s splendor and serves as a showcase for silent movies and more.
