Owned by John des Rosiers (Inovasi), Moderno has a mantra that everything is made from scratch, by-hand with a focus on local, high-quality ingredients. The menu is broken down into Pizzas, Smalls, Salads, Pastas, To Share and Not to Share with the To Share portioned for two to four guests to enjoy family-style.

During the day, Moderno transforms into Pranzo Moderno, located in the restaurant's entrance. The quick-service shop serves made-to-order sandwiches, salads and soups. Menu highlights include the Italian sub sandwich with capicola, soppressata, mortadella, provolone cheese and house-made vinaigrette; PLT panini with prosciutto, arugula and tomato pesto; and a chopped Romaine salad with oven-dried tomatoes, radicchio, olives and a house-made creamy Parmesan dressing.

Beautiful and varied collection. It’s a huge space so make sure to give yourself plenty of time for it. I loved the top floor the most. The cafe was nice but nothing special. The museum shop was nice too but again not super special, just bigger than most. Great for art literature but the trinkets and whatnot are basically the same as other places. Overall a great day. I do wish they still did coatcheck though. It gets very tiring carrying a big winter jacket around.

I have to give it 5 stars. I mean, the collection is insane. This is on my top 3 museums globally. However, it is a lot. You will get super tired and spend a lot of time if you like art. I would recommend starting from up to down and taking a break to grab something to eat on the cafe or the rooftop. I was short in time so I did not do that and I was mentally exhausted by the time I left. The store is good but lacks a bit of variety in the cheap souvenirs. I am old fashioned in museums and would rather have a printed map. Global students pay half price ($14). Student ID is required but they did not look mine particularly. It was busy in a Tuesday so I can only imagine the weekend. Still completely comfortable to walk through and no line at any moment.

Great museum. The floor plan is a bit poorly designed. The artwork is not distributed well. Some floors have a lot of artwork and some are scarce. The toilet is clean and plentiful. There are a lot of seats throughout the museum. The outdoor space is also nice. Overall it's a good museum but there are a few things that can be improved for a better experience of visitors.

I had wanted to visit for so long and when I finally did, I was not disappointed! So many amazing and ground breaking pieces all beautifully displayed. I stayed for hours and will definitely go back. The museum store is also great - so many gift ideas and things you'll want to bring home.

The first Friday of the month is free for local New Yorkers to visit but you need to book the tickets in advance. Also they have free pen and paper and even chairs for visitors to participate drawing. The terrace cafe was pretty good. In the evening they have DJ music and open bar in the garden. It was very chill and fun. I love the activities and interaction that they offered. I like this museum better than Guggenheim.

Came here on a Saturday for my birthday weekend and had a great time! The museum is so spacious that even on a busy day, you have your own space to move around and admire the artwork. You don't realize how many exhibits there are from the outside! I absolutely loved being able to see Starry Night in person! Definitely one of the most anticipated paintings in there, so expect to wait a few minutes before seeing it up close and taking a photo!

My new favorite art museum. There’s about 6 levels and over 400+ rooms of art here 🤯 — from sculptures, paintings, to multi-media. I loved the versatility of projects and exhibits. They’re were all veneers present too. It was just an amazing experience. They have cafes (but no food/water are allowed in the museum), a bar, and stores. The whole establishment is so clean and tidy. We spent about 2hrs and didn’t even see everything. It’s easily a 4hrs adventure if you have to time to spare. I left inspired and refreshed. It was $25/per person and there is security.

This museum is absolutely lovely!! During my visit today, the crowds were really low. I'd recommend visiting this time of year (and when the weather is this cold) because some of the exhibits were completely empty. I'd say this is the most unique art museum I've ever been in. I'm not well versed in appreciating art, but this was much more than the standard image of empty rooms with classical paintings hanging on the walls. I think it offers something interesting for people who aren't traditional art fans

IF you like modern art, this is the place for you. The service was awesome; there has been security everywhere, and the museum was super clean. If you DO NOT LIKE modern art (like me and my husband) do not go there. It's not worth it. I gave 5 starts because the Museum was nice and clean and the staff was friendly.

Great place to spend some time with family or friends. We met up with some friends we hadn't seen in years and enjoyed roaming through the gallery while catching up. It was a great way to spend a few hours while also seeing the art. Nice place with everything you need (gift store, bathroom, Cafe, and cafeteria) to spend an extended time together while enjoying the art. Highly recommend it.

Wonderful excursion into the world of younger artists mixed with the old school master pieces like Monet’s Lily ponds. Some installations truly stretch your mind and lead you to new places in your thoughts, others stay an enigma which language you don’t understand. A wonderful contrast to the Metropolitan Museum. Both should be enjoyed together.

Great museum to bring visiting friends and family - even those who are not normally a fan of modern art will find at least one thing they can experience or relate to here. I visit often to see new exhibitions, but also view the more permanent works on display. Tickets are best purchased online beforehand and their coat check is currently closed, masks required etc.
