Max's Wine Dive
The Texas-based chain opens its first outpost outside of the state in Chicago. Expect some of Max's signature dishes (famous Southern fried chicken, MAX 'n cheese, the signature blend burger), plus many original entrees created by the chef. The menu is seasonal, but dishes like cheesy garlic bread, fried brie and "crunchy" steak & biscuits are permanent items.
Max's also specializes in wine; what sets it apart from competitors is that guests may order ANY bottle by the glass--as long as they make a two-glass commitment. Guests may also buy any bottle on the menu to take home.
Brunch is especially popular at the Wicker Park restaurant, and it starts with Mimosas and/or sparkling wine. Diners have a choice of whether to drink budget or premium Mimosas; they start at $4.50.
