Blommer Chocolate Store - Chicago

One of the largest chocolate manufacturers in North America, Blommer was founded in Chicago in 1939 by brothers Henry, Al and Bernard Blommer. Still family-owned, the company gets freight cars full of raw cacao beans at this facility and turns them into chocolate, cocoa and confections mainly on a wholesale basis.

This outlet store, open to the public, offers a wide variety of dark, milk and white chocolates, cocoa and baking supplies, plus cacao hulls for garden mulch.

Used to be a five star place but for the last two years the cooking chocolate quality has dropped. Blommer? More like Bloomer! As in "Chocolate Bloom". Shut up, I thought it was funny.

If you are driving semi with slpr berth and 53 ft trailer from 90 94 east take exit 50 B Ohio st then turn right on to orleans st always make sure you take wide turns then turn right to Grands ave pass by the river bridge then you see a 4way stop proceed ahead slowly then turn left on des plains and you 2 bridges 13.6 pass both bridges then park your truck the facility is on your left side walk by the big dock doors the corner end of the building is where you need to check in On day time is gonna be hard to backup to those doors because of traffic you need to come with someone to help But if it’s night delivery after 9pm it’s not bad They are quick unloading
