The Bruno family tradition goes on…….
Albert Bruno along with his sister Corrine have worked endlessly all their lives…. prompted by their parents who opened a restaurant in 1944 at Belmont and Central called Bruno’s Pizza. They were a mainstay in the Chicago community for 40 years.
They made pizza for 12 years and learned how to cook their mother’s recipes.
Basilico Ristorante originally operated under the name Back Stage and there were some name changes along the way. Al reacquired the restaurant in 1997 to continue the family’s long history in the restaurant business.
