Weekday Planner: III Forks Rooftop Soiree, Randolph Tavern's One-Year Anniversary, Lunch at Embeya, Owen + Alchemy Pop-up

Rooftop Soiree at III Forks

Nothing better than a sunny rooftop soiree with a side of altruism. III Forks Prime Steakhouse is throwing an al fresco spring bash in support of Common Threads on May 11. Hosted by XRT radio personality Lin Brehmer, the event will feature cocktails, beer, wine, live entertainment, passed hors d'oeuvres, and a silent auction from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Snack-wise, expect plates like beef tartare, short rib arancini, tomato confit, fluke crudo, and more. In addition to the aforementioned booze, Hennessy reps will be in attendance to dole out tasting portions of Hennessy 250 Collector Blend Cognac. The price to attend is $75, which sends $50 from each ticket to Common Threads. Purchase tickets through the Common Threads website events page.

Randolph Tavern Turns One

One year ago, the Loop welcomed a slick new watering hole and restaurant. That restaurant, Randolph Tavern, is celebrating its first anniversary with some discount dining and drinking deals on May 11 from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. And by discount, we mean $1 PBR drafts and tacos, which run the gamut from Baja fish tacos and smoked chicken to steak carnitas and seasonal veggies. Additionally, the restaurant will be rolling out new menu items such as heirloom tomato salad, house-smoked rib tips, New England-style lobster rolls, and more.

Eat Lunch at Embeya

Fresh off re-opening with a new executive chef, Mike Sheerin, Embeya is rolling out its new weekday lunch menu. Available Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., the menu speaks to Sheerin's penchant for contemporary and refined Asian cuisine, featuring a three-course lunch tasting menu and a la carte options aplenty. Dishes to try include appetizers like charred baby carrots with cured ham, togarashi, and yuzu vinaigrette; green papaya salad with cucumber, crispy shallots, and Thai basil; and TETE Charcuterie sai krok isan sausage with pineapple, green garlic, and cilantro. For entrees, there's braised lamb with cumin and wintered sunchokes; steamed mussels in lemongrass-lobster broth; salmon with mint fumet, roasted coconut, and hearts of palm; petit filet with ramp kimchi; and more. There's also desserts, cocktail, non-alcoholic beverages (ahem, ginger-plum lemonade), and other items to snack and sip on.

Owen + Alchemy Pops Up at Eataly

Logan Square's quintessential juice bar is popping up at Eataly for several days starting May 11, bringing their wholesome and lustrous brand of produce-packed potables to the Italian Mecca. From May 11 through May 18, Owen + Alchemy will set up shop with a cold-pressed juice counter on Eataly's first floor by the Nutella bar. The pop-up menu will feature seven juices, including a seasonal kombucha and an Eataly exclusive inspired by gianduja, aka the chocolate-hazelnut spread native to Piedmonte. The menu, which runs from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. daily, includes kale-parsley-romaine-celery-apple juice; apple-ginger-lemon-cayenne juice; blueberry-basil-grapefruit-lime juice; cold-brewed organic coffee with raw almond, cashew, maca, and vanilla bean; young raw coconut juice and meat; and more.
