Weekend Planner: Fried Chicken Special at Table Fifty-Two, Rhine Hall Opens on Fridays, Kamayan Feast at Sunda

Fried Chicken Prix Fixe at Table Fifty-Two

Culminating a week-long celebration of National Fried Chicken Day, Friday is your final chance to partake in Table Fifty-Two's fried chicken-focused prix fixe special. It's an apt, bargain-oriented way to experience the restaurant's famed fried chicken, which is made via a four-step process that includes a six-hour brine and a 12-24 hour buttermilk bath before getting coated with egg, hot sauce, and flour. The restaurant's standout dish takes center stage on this special three-courser, which begins with cucumber and tomato salad followed by fried chicken served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and mini macaroni and cheese. For dessert, it's pecan pie with warm caramel and whipped cream. All for $38 per person.

Rhine Hall Opens on Fridays

Previously only open to the public on Thursdays and Saturdays, Rhine Hall begins Friday hours this weekend, open from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. It's another convenient opportunity to enjoy cocktails, tastings, and tours at the brandy-focused distillery and bar. To kick off Friday hours, the distillery is launching its exclusive pear brandy, which will be sold exclusively out of the tasting room. 

Kamayan Feast at Sunda

The savorous culture and cuisine of the Philippines step into the spotlight for a special dinner feast at Sunda on July 12. Much of the menu is designed to be eaten with your hands, spread out before you family-style. Available starting at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, the Kamayan feast includes whole crispy fish, lechon kawali, longaniza, shrimp and chicken adobo skewers, a pork blood stew called dinaguan, crispy soft-shell crab, lumpia, tomato-onion salad, and halo-halo for dessert. It's all served atop a bed of rice and adjoined by the featured cocktail of the night, the Manila Mai Tai made with Tanduay Dark Rum, Tanduay Silver Rum, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao, orgeat, Gingerbread-hibiscus tea syrup, and lime juice. The cost for the feast is $50 per person and tickets can be purchased through Sunda's website.
