Formerly known as Trenchermen, Heisler Hospitality have morphed their Bucktown staple into Trench. Borrowing a page from American tavern lore, the hospitality group have honed in on contemporary American cuisine by bringing on acclaimed chef Jared Wentworth and outfitting the beverage program with wines, craft beers, ciders and classic cocktails.

Trench, located where originally bath houses were, is artistically decorated and the ambiance is fantastic. The burrata was beautifully plated, and the meatballs were served with an incredible sauce that was the essence of garlic. The octopus was well prepared, bursting with flavor and served with a good range of different textured foods (potatoes and greens). The burger and duck fat fries were simply done, but rich and decadent and very good. Overall, I enjoyed my meal at Trench very much.

Amazing brunch meal! We will come back. Attacked our food so fast could only take picture of the donut of the pastry flight. I don't even like donuts and this was amazing. The whole place has great attention to detail from the forks and hand drawn menu adornments to wall decor and ceilings. We will definitely try this place for cool dinner.

Another great meal at Trench. I started with the lamb meat balls which were great. They had a light tomato sauce and were served beautifully. For my main course I had the special for the day, the chicken and waffles. The waffle was sweet and crisp with a dollop of butter that soaked into the pockets of the waffles. The fried chicken on top of the waffles was crispy and salty, the perfect compliment to the waffle. To top off this plate there was a smear of hot sauce on the edge of the plate. I will be returning soon that's for sure.

On my last day in Chicago, I had brunch here. All I can say is whoa! This place offers incredible cocktails, made to perfection and food that's just ridiculously perfect on a lazy Sunday! Will recommend to anyone in Wicker Park/ Bucktown area!
