So my friends and I tried almost everything- hence all the pictures. I love this place!! It may be my new favorite bakery. They have both savory and sweet options and the flavors are very interesting and unique. Some of the standouts include the beautiful savory soufflé, the bbq pork bun, the egg custard, the lemon muffin, and the snickerdoodle filled with cured egg. I could go on and on. The lemon muffin was soft and tender, with a very subtle lemony flavor. The bbq pork bun was an unexpected surprise because we thought it just had a pineapple filling. Instead, it was chock full of bbq pork along with chunks of pineapple. The egg custard was rich and the crust was unbelievably flaky and delicious. The soufflé is almost indescribable— full of bacon and scallion.
The Fat Rice restaurant is great and you can see my review of that separately, but the Bakery at Fat Rice is just as special. I don’t know any place else in the city you can get all of this wonderful and unique flavors.
