This massive terrace lounge at the Loews Chicago Hotel boasts some of the largest al fresco space in Chicago, with cocktails, wine and beer as part of its draw. Ultimately, most people flock here for the enormous patio, which is open seasonally, complete with a huge lawn and outdoor games.
There are daily specials, including burgers and cocktails, and the menu reflects what one would expect for casual summer bites. Start with fun, share-able fare like pimento cheese hush puppies--which arrive with shishito peppers and bacon-buffalo sauce--and chicken-fried mushrooms.
Main dishes include saison-steamed mussels, a Cuban sandwich made with smoked suckling pig, and a hearty seafood boil of crab legs, shrimp, mussels, hot links, potatoes, corn and Streeter spice.
