We Wanted to enjoy a good steak and decided to try Ruth Chris Steak House in Virginia Beach. I have tried many good steak houses around the world and Ruth Chris is a top notch steak house. They warn you the plates are served hot and they are right. The food is piping hot when it arrived. But first the service, the service was on point from our Server Garon, he was great and on point. He recommended the macaroni and crab. That bleep was good! First time I tried it and it did not disappoint. Was impressed with the service that the manager stopped and talked several time at our table. Garon was entertaining and took very good care of us. He deserved the 50+ dollar tip we gave. The steak and potatoe was very good and the taste did not disappoint. The potatoe was fresh and too big. My wife had the lambs chops with asparagus. But we are so much of the macaroni and crabs we both were full. It was $200.00 plus we'll spent. If you want a good fine dining experience try Ruth's Steak House

We had an amazing time! This review is from our visit on July 9th. Our server was Byrce. He was pleasant, friendly but not overbearing. Ruth's Chris is my mom favorite restaurant but we have never been to the location in Virginia Beach. My best friend had never been at all. He had a great experience and thoroughly enjoyed his food. Our table spread included a ribeye steak, lamb chops, sizzling crab cakes, au gratin, mac and cheese (no lobster), sweet potato casserole, spicy shrimp, Caesar salad, garlic mashed potatoes, a blackberry side car and a blueberry mojito and for dessert a bread pudding. The only thing that was lack luster (not bad or disgusting, just wasn't as delicious as all the other items) was the au gratin. It was a bit under seasoned for my taste. Everything was clean which you expect but not all places are successful at so that was great to see. And though he was great the entire time, one of the best things that Bryce could have done was when giving the check he indicated the tip was already included. That allowed me to decide if I wanted to include more along with my tip or not. It seems so insignificant but it is really a big thing and shows such honesty and as a frequent diner I really appreciate that. We will definitely return when I'm back in Va in the future!

We’ve been having date nights here for years. Quality has gone down, prices have gone up. And they force an 18% tip on you, no matter how mediocre the service is for that visit. They’ve taken that leverage away from the customer. And, you get just a good of a steak now at other places for 1/3 the price. Not sure we’ll be back, unfortunately.

This location failing to enforce its own advertised dress code is what prevented me from giving a perfect score for our visit here this evening. It was disappointing to come here and pay $150+ per person at least partially for the experience of dining out somewhere that is expected to be very fancy and exquisite only to be surrounded by diners in t-shirts, shorts, and flip flops. Otherwise, everything was amazing. The food was excellent, our server Mike and the bussers and runners supporting him were all top-notch and provided excellent service, and the dining area was immaculate and looked much cleaner and more modern than the last Ruth's Chris location that we visited in Greensboro, NC. The overly casual attire of the other guests would have been far less bothersome had this location not advertised a dress code. If you're going to broadcast that this a place to come dressed up, then please enforce it so that a guest who is wearing a suit or sport coat is not the one who looks and feels out of place at this fine dining establishment.
