Such a great place to go with family and friends. Big enough orchard where you are not on top of everyone. We had a small baby with our group and was able to get around fine with stroller. What a fun time but the best part was the apple cider donuts and coffee!! Yum yum!
Just heard of this place and decided to try it out. Great decision! Went to pick pumpkins a little late in the season (10/17) and they still had a ton of great choices still in the patch, or you can get pre picked. Prices are reasonable, donuts are good, tractor ride was great, awesome play area for the kids and maybe best of all....masks are not strictly enforced indoors! 100% recommend royal oak farm.
Beautiful place with so much to do! Our toddler loved the wide open grass spaces to run around and all of the animals. It's really nice that we can visit the animals without paying, too! I also love the apple cider - so yummy. We will be back soon!
5/5 It is our first time visiting the Royal Oak Farm. The orchard is very beautiful. We loved the donuts and pulled pork sandwich. This is definitely a great family place. Normally I don't write reviews but wanted to share something. Shout-out to the barrel ride operator from Saturday, a fellow Penn Stater, for making our daughter's day. Our daughter was very excited about the ride, so she jumped into the barrel not realizing a token or cash is needed for the ride. Since we did not have a toke, I tried to get our daughter out of the barrel, but she started crying and did not want to come out. In lieu of pulling her out of the ride and making it a big deal, he was so kind to let her ride along with the other kids when my husband ran into the store to buy a token. We were very thankful for that. We tried to give him a tip afterward but he did not accept it; hence I decided to write this review. I will be coming back with my family for more apples and donuts.
Enjoyed our apple picking experience here. The size of the place is just right, esp if you have little kids. Nice variety of apple, even thought this season was allegedly a dud. Pricing was similar to other NW IL orchards, and I liked how there were free activities like the petting zoo and playground. We also did the carousel for $3. We had lunch at the restaurant, which was counter service(again ideal for little kids), and although the menu didn't look like much, the food was good, fairly priced, and nicely portioned. Lots of seating available on the weekend.
