Raised: An Urban Rooftop Bar - Chicago
In 2016, the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel unveiled a cool little indoor/outdoor rooftop lounge called Raised. It's named as such for a couple of reasons. It draws inspiration from the "raising" of the iconic bridges lining the Chicago River as well as the concept of urban gardens, utilizing "raised" garden beds to grow their harvest in an urban environment.
It does help that Raised offers spectacular views of Chicago, which include skyscrapers, boats floating along the Chicago River and the bustling foot traffic on State Street. It's a perch enjoyed by locals and hotel guests as they sip craft cocktails made with a number of local ingredients or nosh on share-able dishes.
Highlights of the menu include truffle frites, torched oysters, turkey meatball sliders, and local cheese and charcuterie selections.
