What Lunch!! Looked forward to eating here from the reviews. I was pleased beyond ny expectations. The food was great!! Down home southern cooking!! But what makes it great is the staff. From my greeter, to the server, to the chef at the buffet. Plenty of southern selections. Also you can order from the menu. Also white table linen, and a homie feel in the dining room. A must visit. Do not let the outside area or oarking put you off. Must visit. Thank Pearl for a wonderful lunch!!

I stopped in hoping for a late breakfast and discovered a new favorite restaurant on the near south side. I tried their breakfast buffet and was treated to a homemade omelette, potatoes, bacon, sausage and fresh biscuits. Everything was delicious, hot and fresh. I’ll definitely be back to try out the lunch and dinner menu.

It was busy today. Worth the wait. I went with a program with Lake County Health Department it was fabulous the food was amazing! Everyone treated everyone like family. Chef Richard I believe his name makes the BEST pancakes, waffles and omelettes!

This food is amazing. I love the fact that’s it’s a buffet, but it’s not just any buffet. The banana pudding is a must grab. The staff is also amazing. You can’t go wrong with this place. Just make sure you have nothing to do later in your day, you will be stuffed! It’s like having thanksgiving food year around

Pearl's Place is sometimes a hit or miss,and when it's a hit the food is fantastic. This is a soul food restaurant with a breakfast buffet through brunch time, but after 9 the prices go up ⬆️⚠️. Breakfast menu is served all day. Pearl's has a nice size dining room so a big group is no problem to seat, but due to the shortage of reliable wait staff, this place may struggle with service if it becomes extremely busy. The food on my visit was good with the group ordering - shrimp n grits, liver n onions, pancakes n eggs, hamburgers w/potato wedges, and other items. Aĺl food was said to be good and having great taste. The time of the visit was after one. The parking is plentiful on the street or by parking inside the Amber Inn. The atmosphere is homey having a relaxing vibe to it, not being too uppity. The prices can get up there depending on what you order. Some of the more hard to find soul food delicacies are pricey. Give Pearl's a try more than once as each time may be different so don't count the place out if you have a so so visit.

The service was friendly and the food was really good. Almost every menu item was on the buffet. Pancakes, waffles, grits, eggs, build your own omelettes, potatoes, ham, bacon, turkey sausage, salmon croquettes, fried chicken, Mac n cheese, catfish nuggets and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. And that was just breakfast!

Took a bunch of family and friends after church. Darryl accommodated our group and Deidre was the best server ever! The buffet price has gone up, but it's still a great value, and so is the banana pudding everyone got! Everything was delicious as usual. I will indeed be back!

The day I went (Saturday before mother's day) they had an all you can eat buffet for $20! 🤯 And BOY.. Everything was delicious!!! The macaroni and cheese was AMAZING and the BREAD PUDDING with RUM SAUCE was literally the best thing I have ever put in my mouth! Not kidding! 🤯🤤😅 I wanted to go back again the next day. Lol My only complaint would be that the decor is a little dated but this place has been here forever and a lot of older people dine here so it makes sense. I cant wait to visit Chicago again so I can go back to Pearl's Place.
