Opened in 1967, this one-time franchise of an erstwhile national chain is still operated by the Miller family across from the Ingleside Metra stop in Fox Lake. The seasonal drive-in, open March through October, offers uniformed carhop service, so you can dine in your car on burgers, all-beef hot dogs, Coney dogs, chili, shakes, malts and the "World's Creamiest" root beer, made in-house.

I've always had a good experience with Dog N Suds! I don't usually buy drinks when I go out to eat, but every time I came here I made sure to get a frosted mug. Loved it so much that I ended up buying a souvenir mug from them, and occasionally a gallon of their root beer. Unfortunately, I left the mug in a freezer in Chicago before leaving the area and have missed that mug ever since. haha. Of course, I have a new mug but without the Dog N Suds logo on it. Great place, and fun to visit on cruise night.
