this place used to be great, but they changed a few staples... like the bread.. and it just isn't as good. service standards are significantly lower than before the pandemic, which is probably due to really "professional" service staff leaving the industry and new hires just cannot compare. Our server was Nick, he was mediocre at best as a server, but probably a really great guy... he just didn't pick up on the nuances of superior service, although he was adequate. Food was hit or miss... one dish was phenomenal, one was barely edible, and one was decent. The garlic bread seemed like a wet loaf of bread splashed with some oil and sparse cheese.... the place was virtually empty at 5pm... so sad, but a sign of the times I suppose. Maggiano's used to be a top notch go-to place for classic dishes and great service, but perhaps it has reached its pinnacle and in quickly falling to the ranks of places that are like a garden of olives. The recession of Maggiano's has begun, hopefully it will change course and become a Phoenix rising from the ashes. My recommendation is lower your expectations for food and service and go there to enjoy a quiet, empty restaurant.
