Local Foods - Chicago
Local Foods simplifies the way farmers reach the market, allowing them to focus on meeting the growing wholesale and retail demand in Chicago.
In the spring of 2015, Local Foods opened its retail center and market in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood as a part of its 27,000 square-foot multi-use facility. The general public will now have access year-round to the same array of local farm fare and products already afforded to Chicago’s top chefs, restaurants and retailers.
As a wholesale distributor, Local Foods provides greater access and availability to the Midwest’s wide range of local products by working directly with farmers and rural food hubs to aggregate, market and distribute high-quality, 100% source-identified produce, meat, dairy, eggs and other foodstuffs. This is accomplished by increasing logistical efficiencies, investing in the supply chain and integrating technology to streamline the farm to plate process.
Our wholesale product list features a full line of pasture-raised proteins, organic and sustainably-raised fruits and vegetables, value-added products, specialty items and much more.
Local Foods is founded by Chicagoans Andrew Lutsey and Dave Rand, who each bring experience in agricultural production and marketing and distribution of locally grown foods
