Lazy Bird - Chicago
One of three concepts at Hoxton Chicago, located in Fulton Market District, Lazy Bird is a subterranean cocktail lounge. Its specialty? It's all laid out in an intricately designed menu that advertises 52 classic cocktails--one for every day of the week.
There's the Negroni. Also, Clover Club. And yes, Margarita, brandy-infused Crusta and gin-based Salty Dog are all there as well.
While Lazy Bird feels like a secret or a speakeasy, it doesn't advertise itself as so. It's dark and romantic, and offers roomy, cushy booths seating up to six. Weekends feature live music from local artists performing jazz and rhythm & blues.
There's no food served at Lazy Bird yet; guests may venture to the lobby level for Mediterranean fare at Cira or Cabra for Stephanie Izard's interpretation of Peruvian cuisine.
It's owned by Boka Restaurant Group, which won a James Beard Award for "Outstanding Restaurateur of the Year" in 2019.
