La Casa De Isaac

La Casa De Isaac - Highland Park

This suburban restaurant comes from Isaac and Moishe Nava. They opened La Casa de Isaac in Highland Park on April 29, 2008. It was a chance to bring authentic home-style Mexican cuisine to Chicago’s North Shore. During the first few months, their late mother, Florencia, visited from their home town of Huitzuco to help create unique dishes for the restaurant. Subsequently, Mama’s Favorite Enchiladas are the best-selling item on the menu. As a family-owned and operated restaurant, Isaac and Moishe continue developing and introducing new dishes to their customers.

During the summer of 2010, they opened a combination deli and food market. “Our father and grandfather have been in the wholesale and retail produce business and that type of store was a natural for us,” relates Isaac. In addition, both Isaac and Moishe worked as countermen at a local deli for years and have a hands-on knowledge of that type of business too. The store has a wide selection of products at prices below most other supermarkets.” Isaac proudly states, “Because we supply our restaurants, we have a high turnover of produce, meat, and fish so our deli and grocery store customers appreciate how fresh our perishable items are.”
