The father-and-son team behind Brando's Speakeasy sets its sights on conquering Lincoln Park with this Renaissance-themed tavern. King of Cups favors itself as a "gothic-chic bar," and specializes in craft cocktails.
Highlights on the drink menu range from Maximillian the Imposter (banana-infused mezcal, bourbon, PX sherry, chocolate bitters, angostura bitters, applewood smoke) to Virtuous Queen (lavender-infused gin, Campari, rose vermouth, rosemary lavender tincture bitters, floral). Smerch's Swizzle, another cocktail offering, pays homage to the long-time watering hole in this location before King of Cups. There are also house shots, wine on tap and a nice selection of wines by the glass.
Tarot readings are every day and are complimentary on Fridays. On Saturdays, guests can expect a “midnight mystery” to spice up the night. On the first Thursday of each new zodiac month, not only will new zodiac drink specials hit the menu but those of the month’s sign can receive a free tarot reading and chalice.
