Joker's Cajun Smokehouse

Joker's Cajun Smokehouse - Chicago

Cajun food and barbecue go together like a burger and fries: they were made for each other and Joker's Cajun Smokehouse brings you the best of both. In the context of a "modern, friendly dining experience," Joker's smokes their meat fresh everyday and they serve it up with some classic Cajun favorites.

.

Specializing in artisan, small-batch wood-smoked barbecue, Joker's Cajun Smokehouse sources their meat from places like Slagel and Strauss, both family-owned farms that produce hormone-free beef, raised in open pastures, perfect for smoking over hardwood fires.

Beef brisket, baby back ribs, St. Louis spares, pulled pork, and chicken come out of the smoker to your plate, juicy and delicious. If you can't decide on what to order, order the combo plate and get a good taste of many of the different meats that emerge from the smoker, which you can have as entrees or as part of a classic Po'Boy sandwich.

Of course, if meat is not what you're interested in eating, there's a large selection of alternative proteins including blackened fish, shrimp or catfish, fried shrimp and chicken.

Cajun selections include chicken and pork gumbo, crawfish etoufee, .jambalaya, catfish and, of course, red beans and rice with andouille sausage.

For something a little different, check out the Boudin Balls, made of Boudin sausage (a mixture of ground pork and rice), slipped out of its casing, shaped into balls, fried and served with remoulade sauce. Or have a taste of the Burnt Ends, once tossed out, now a beloved snack or side.

As at any barbecue joint, the sides at Joker's are a big part of the meal. To enhance your dining experience, select sides like corn bread, cole slaw, macaroni n' cheese, potato salad, collard greens and house-made pickles.

Desserts are very much in the Southern tradition, and they include the ever-popular pecan pie and bread pudding, simple desserts and simply delicious.
